A Dollar Less
By Joshua Kraude

Student Project: Salish Kootenai College

Synopsis: A biographical war memoir that started as an assignment for a class but took on a life of its' own. A journey through dealing with breaking down after the unit I once served with had mass casualties in Afghanistan and dealing with the haunting memories of my own time in Iraq. A raw and painful writing that at sometimes is a therapeutic path taken but often one that bounces on exposed nerves. A project that started with trying to write an artist statement but devolves into how art can be lost and found on your journey to an attempt at healing the deep guilt one feels for their actions taken or not taken.
